Z’man Kehilla
Each Sunday there is a time set aside for the entire Am Echod student community, teachers and parents to gather with Rabbi and our School Administrator in the sanctuary.  The focus of Z’man Kehilla is to reinforce that which is going on in the classroom and to build community between the student populations of all ages.

Hebrew School
Hebrew studies at Am Echod are primarily based on grade level. The curriculum for each grade is:

  • Level Alef: Letter and vowels
  • Level Bet: Beginning reading
  • Level Gimmel: Friday night prayers and reading fluency
  • Level Dalet: Saturday night prayers
  • B'nai Mitzvah Class: A 12-week class during the child’s Bar/Bat Mitzvah year comprised of 2 areas of focus - components of the Bar / Bat Mitzvah (9 weeks) and writing the D’var Torah (3 weeks)
Pre-School & Kindergarten Religious School

The purpose of Sunday pre-school and kindergarten is to provide first time exposure to Judaism.  We utilize hands-on activities including arts and crafts, songs and special events to explore the various traditions and holidays of our religion.  We offer a warm, creative, loving environment where the child begins to develop a genuine feel for the customs and traditions of Judaism.  The program is offered every Sunday, according to the school calendar for a one hour session followed by Z’man Kehilla.

Please contact Congregation Am Echod’s School Administrator at 847-265-1818 or schooladministrator@amechod.org for information on any of the programs above.
